FITNESS

OUR APPROACH

Our bodies function with more than just one muscle or joint at a time. Ideally, your body recruits groups or chains of muscles that work in unison to accelerate, stabilize, and decelerate movement. Poor functioning in just one of these roles will lead to compensation patterns somewhere in the body. This leads to decreased function, performance, and often, pain and injury. Utilizing a functional approach to fitness recruits more muscles and joints together by utilizing compound exercises and moving through multiple different directions, as we do in everyday life. No two people are the same, so fitness training should be as unique as each individual and their goal. All our fitness programs begin with the FMS screen, allowing the fitness professional to completely customize your fitness regimen based on your results, your body, and your goals. Whether you are just beginning your fitness journey, a seasoned athlete wanting to fine tune performance and decrease injury risk, or simply wanting to experience normal daily activities without pain, Kallos has you covered.

FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN

Never start a fitness regimen without knowing where you are now, and what you need to get to your goal. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a screen that looks at 7 different fundamental movement patterns that require a balance of mobility and stability. These patterns not only provide a baseline for proper movement, but they also show which movement patterns are problematic due to weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries, and restrictions.  The screen allows the health and fitness professional to see how you move as a whole, and to tailor the program with exercises specific to what your body needs to move better and more efficiently. The functional movement program is designed to ensure a baseline level of functional movement is met and to correct those patterns that are below baseline, allowing you to improve performance in life and sport, and most importantly, better manage injury risk that may not have been otherwise discovered. Beyond assessing injury risk or recovering from an injury, the FMS program is ideal for those with chronic, “nagging” issues of pain or tightness and those wanting a safe way to begin or return to exercise.

ADVANCED CORRECTIVE THERAPY

Corrective therapy sessions focus on correcting muscle imbalances (a combination of muscle tightness and weakness). These sessions offer the perfect blend of focused massage techniques and corrective exercises to serve more advanced postural and musculoskeletal imbalances. Corrective exercise training begins with in-depth assessments to get more specific on areas of tightness, weakness, or instability. Depending on your assessment, corrective exercise training may include self-myofascial techniques, stretching, manual therapy such as localized massage or trigger point therapy, IASTM, cupping, resistance training, weight training, and stability exercises. Corrective exercise is ideal for those looking to manage and decrease general tightness and postural imbalances.

STICK MOBILITY TRAINING

Stick mobility is a training system that improves your flexibility, strength, and coordination. Focusing on the lines of fascia, the system combines deep fascial stretching, strengthening, and joint mobilization with the goal of building a stronger foundation for better movement. The stick is a flexible tool used to provide leverage to access expanded ranges of motion and create tension that builds neuromuscular function and full body strength. Stick mobility can be used as a standalone training program, or it can be integrated into other training programs, activities, or sports. Come see how implementing Stick Mobility takes fascial stretching and strengthening to a whole new level.
